Sam Leaver canoeing, with his testimonial about recovering from a burst appendix and becoming U23 World Champion.
I worked with Andy closely while recovering from a burst appendix in early 2023. I had many imbalances which Andy helped me develop and level out during my recovery. He helped me to work efficiently and develop the areas I was especially weak in, he tailored my training and paced things extremely well to ensure I had a smooth recovery and return to full competition fitness. We worked within an 8 month timeline with the U23 World Championships being our main goal in mind. With Andy’s help and expertise, I turned up to the Championships in excellent condition and became U23 World Champion.

Lois Leaver canoeing, with her testimonial about personalised coaching and an enjoyable training environment.
I had the pleasure of working with Andy throughout my under 23 years as a canoe slalom athlete and I can’t recommend him enough. Although Andy’s knowledge and professionalism are amazing, it was his ability to create a fun, exciting and engaging environment that my team and I loved. If you’re looking for tailored training plans, someone who understands your needs, personalised programmes and most of all a coach that will make the hard sessions bearable, Andy is your guy!

Kirsty Ritchie on the rugby field, with her testimonial about becoming fitter and stronger through coaching.
Having worked with Andy for a good few years, I can honestly say it was the fittest and strongest I’d been. Knows his job incredibly well and knows the whys behind it all, which I found really helpful to not only my development as an athlete but to my own personal knowledge. He provided a space where it was encouraged to be as strong, powerful and as explosive as possible, something I needed at the time. Not only that, he’s a solid support system, providing that extra encouragement when needed and having a real care for his athletes through all stages of their career.

Ben Haylett competing in canoe slalom, with his testimonial about strength and endurance development and returning from shoulder surgery.
I worked with Andy closely in my career striving to push on strength and endurance in the gym and other areas predominantly looking to peak for Senior and Under 23 World Championships and Olympic Selection events. I had many areas to improve on from basic core stability to overall explosive power and there was top tier guidance and reasoning along the way. In addition a memorable period for myself was a time of around 8 months working collaboratively with our team’s physio Tay to rehab a shoulder surgery. There was a tight deadline of selection in a make or break year of my career and Andy was excellent at keeping motivation high whilst a professional and engaging edge was always there in the gym. We managed to come out of the period in a better place than projected and significantly ahead of schedule. I came out of my period working with Andy U23 European Champion and continued on into Seniors.
